The window

The window closes the day they pick a platform.

An organizer decides to host. Somewhere in the next few weeks they choose how people will sign up — and once entries are open, changing it costs them the whole event. First contact usually wins the season, and then the next one.

The hard part was never the pitch. It was hearing about the event while the decision was still open.

At $900 of revenue per event served, which is our working assumption and not a promise: a 120-player one-day event at a $50 entry and a 6% platform fee is about $360, and a 400-player weekend with add-ons is several times that. Put your own number in its place — and remember organizers come back, most of them more than once a year, for years.

How it works

Three steps, then a board every morning.

Step one

We build your board.

One 45-minute call: your sports, your states, your voice, and what a good organizer looks like to you. We wire the sources, calibrate the detection and write your note template. That is the Board Build, and it is our work, not yours.

Step two

Every posting becomes a tab.

Tournaments, leagues, clinics and charity events, wherever they are announced in your sports and states. Each one is checked for how it takes entries today, matched against earlier events by the same organizer, and written up.

Step three

By 7 a.m. they are torn off for you.

Organizer, date, state, headcount, sport and level, how they register, their history, and a first note ready to send. Mark each tab torn off, contacted, replied or won. Friday, we walk the board with you.

Ten real conversations — a reply, a call or a meeting with an organizer off your board — inside the first 60 days it is live. Miss it and we return the Board Build fee in full, and Cork stays free until you get there.

What we need from you

  • You work the tabs within seven days of a posting appearing.
  • Your first note goes out from your own domain, under your own name.
  • Your board covers at least one sport in at least three states.

That is the whole condition list. No minimum term, no clawback, nothing to send us.

Why now

Three boards per category, per sport.

Two companies selling the same thing can both work a pickleball board and both do well. Three is the most that can, because past that they are racing each other to the same tabs and the organizer just gets noise. When the third board in a category opens for a sport, that sport closes to that category. We will tell you on the call whether yours is still open.

The founding cohort is eight boards, built by hand, one at a time. That is the real limit on how fast we can start, and it is why there are only eight.

Questions

The things vendors ask us first.

Where do the events come from?
Public postings: club and venue calendars, parks and recreation listings, league and sanctioning-body schedules, and public event pages. If an organizer announced it somewhere people can find it, it is on your board the next morning.
How do you know how they take entries today?
We follow the registration link on the posting and read what is actually there. Most events resolve to a platform, a club form, or an email address. When there is nothing at all, the tab says so — and those are usually the best tabs on the board.
Is any of this personal data?
No. Cork reads public event postings and the contact the organizer chose to publish on them. We do not buy lists, we do not touch entrant data, and nothing is ever sent on your behalf unless you buy Cork + Runner and ask us to.
Who sends the notes?
You do, from your own domain, under your own name. That is a condition of the promise and it is also simply what works. Cork writes the first draft so a blank page is never the reason a tab sits there until the event sells out.
What if my category is already taken in my sport?
We tell you on the call, before you pay anything. If you already reserved, the $300 goes straight back — same day, no conversation about it.
What if it does not work?
Ten organizer conversations in your first 60 days or the Board Build fee comes back and Cork stays free until you reach ten. The conditions are three lines long and they are above, in full.
How long until the first tabs?
Your Board Build call is inside five business days of reserving. Founding boards go live Tue 1 Dec 2026, and the first tabs are pinned to them by 7 a.m. the following morning.
Is there a contract?
Sixty days, then month to month. Founding pricing is locked for as long as you stay on it. It does not come back if you leave.
